Merriwa History Book Launch 

Exciting times ahead. Merriwa History Book Launch is fast approaching.

Special guests for the day will be Tim Henderson and James Bettington.

The books will return from Muswellbrook Hunter Valley Printing this week and we will have our launch luncheon on Sunday 3rd December at 11am. The walls of the School of Arts will be displaying many wonderful photos and decorations to help us celebrate the book launch and Merriwa’s 200 years from 1824 to 2023.

After the luncheon James Bettington will officially launch our wonderful book for us and Tim Henderson will cut our celebration CAKE for us.

If you still wish to join our celebrations you have until Wednesday 29th November to let me know so I can tell Kylie of extra numbers. The luncheon is BYO drinks, water, tea and coffee will be available.

PROPOSED FEES – GUMMUN PLACE

Council is proposing to introduce the following vehicle transportation fees for the 2023/24 financial year for residents of Gummun Place Hostel, Merriwa:

 Local Merriwa appointment  $2.30 plus staff hourly rate
 Muswellbrook appointment  $74.00 plus staff hourly rate
 Scone appointment  $60.00 plus staff hourly rate
 Tamworth appointment  $138.00 plus staff hourly rate
 Newcastle appointment  $166.00 plus staff hourly rate
 Staff hourly rate (incl. on-costs)  $33.38

 
Residents unable to cover the full cost of transport or obtain reimbursement through a relevant transport scheme, may submit an application to Council for financial assistance. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis in accordance with Council’s Financial Hardship Policy.

Consultation period closes at 5pm, Tuesday, 5 December. Written submissions are invited from members of the public. Submission should be addressed to The General Manager and should be sent via mail or email.
