MERRIWA CTC & VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE
For all your travelling and destination information, with a focus on promoting Merriwa, Cassilis and the entire Upper Hunter Shire including local businesses, attractions and community events.
As the Community Technology Centre for Merriwa with state of the art modern computers, Windows 8, Broardband for Seniors FREE computer training, eduONE FREE computer access for University and TAFE NSW students, a talking computer for the sight impared, and the coordination centre for the annual Festival of the Fleeces, the centre is more then just a Visitor’s Centre.
As a community hub, with a Centrelink, Child Support and Medicare Access point with FREE computer access, phone and faxing facilities for all Department of Human Services enquiries.
FREE Wi-Fi access is available with no password during hours of operation only. From 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and from 10.00am to 3.30pm on weekends. Outside of these hours Wi-Fi access may be turned off.
For the youth of Merriwa, a variety of new computer games have been purchased for your enjoyment outside of school hours. Over the next twelve months more computer games will be sourced based on the feedback of the youth who utilize these new facilities.
Computer courses for the whole community are run throughout the year, and are held on various days and at various times to allow the majority of interested participants to attend. The class sizes are small and do not exceed 4 participants, with each lesson being 2 hours in duration covering what you want to learn. All group classes are $5.00 per person per class. Individual lessons are also provided at $55.00 per person per hour, excluding Seniors where one on one training is FREE one hour per week on one day per week.
