The Sandy Hollow Motorfest committee is thrilled to announce its partnership with MS Australia for this year’s event, focusing on raising funds to support Australians living with multiple sclerosis. The annual celebration of automotive culture, which has become a cornerstone event for car enthusiasts and families alike, is set to take place on a new date this year, Saturday 17th August 2024.
This year, the Sandy Hollow Motorfest isn’t just about showcasing classic cars, cutting-edge modifications, and the spirit of motoring; it’s also about making a significant impact in the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis. MS Australia is the leading national organization supporting individuals and their families living with this chronic condition, and the Motorfest is proud to contribute to their invaluable work.

The Sandy Hollow Motorfest has always been more than a car show. It’s a day for the community to come together, enjoy shared passions, and now, support a vital cause. All proceeds from ticket sales, auctions, and donations during the event will go directly to MS Australia, aiding in research, support services, and advocacy efforts for people with multiple sclerosis.

Have Your Say: SRV Community Consultation Now Live
Upper Hunter Shire Council is now seeking your feedback on a proposed Special Rate Variation (SRV) to secure the financial future of our community. Rising costs and the need for sustainable financial management mean we must consider additional funding to maintain the essential services you rely on.
We are considering two options:
SRV of 10% over 3 years: A cumulative permanent increase of 33.10% over three years. SRV of 7.5% over 4 years: A cumulative permanent increase of 33.55% over four years.
For the average residential household, the proposed SRV will amount to approximately $4 extra per week, above normal rating increases, by the final year of the SRV.These variations will help us continue providing vital services such as road maintenance and community facilities, while ensuring our infrastructure remains safe and functional.
Your input is crucial to help us make informed decisions that reflect the needs and priorities of our community. We value your feedback and encourage you to participate in this important consultation process.
The consultation period will run from 3 June 2024 to July 15
Community members can participate in several ways:
