Upper Hunter Shire Council 

DRAFT DELIVERY PROGRAM & OPERATIONAL PLAN (DPOP)

The draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan (DPOP) is now available to view on our website at upperhunter.nsw.gov.au/DPOP.
 
This strategic plan outlines the council’s priorities, objectives, and actions over the next four years, as well as specific actions, targets, timelines, and budgets for each priority area over a one-year period.
 
👥 We encourage everyone to take a look and provide their thoughts and feedback to help shape the future of the Upper Hunter Shire. You can submit your feedback in person at any of our offices, via email, or through an online form, the details of which are available on the website. Submissions close May 29 at 5pm.
 
🗣️ In addition, we will be hosting a series of community consultation sessions to discuss the DPOP and gather community feedback. The sessions are scheduled as follows:
 
📅 – Monday, 8 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Aberdeen Community Hall
📅 – Tuesday, 9 May 2023, 5 – 6:30pm, Cassilis Community Hall
📅 – Tuesday, 9 May 2023, 7:30 – 9pm, Merriwa School of Arts
📅 – Monday, 15 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Scone Council Chambers
📅 – Wednesday, 17 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Murrurundi CWA Hall
📅 – Monday, 22 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Moonan Flat Community Hall

Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces 

JUNE LONG WEEKEND

There are only 4 weeks to the Festival of the Fleeces. Our next meeting is Wednesday 10.5.23 at 6.00pm in the Fletcher Room at Merriwa RSL. Merriwa Rugby League Club will be celebrating our 100 year Anniversary on Saturday 10th June.
Celebrations will begin with Merriwa Magpies vs Denman Devils at 3pm
 
Followed by Jersey Auction of the 1923 Replica Jerseys at the Merriwa Sports Club and a great night of festivities.
 
We welcome all players and supporters past and present to help celebrate 100 years of such a wonderful club

UNIFORM SWAP SHOP

**How it works:**
Item for item swap – means you can swap a polo for a polo, shorts for shorts, etc. The idea is, you’ll be able to swap your garments for larger sizes as your child outgrows them.

Garments can also be purchased if you do not wish to swap.
* Polos & Jumpers will be $5 each
* Shorts, skirts & track pants will be $3 each
(All funds from the sale of items will be allocated to purchasing things like sanitary items and emergency underwear for students)

**Donations of garments are welcome!**

Availability of items & sizes will depend on demand.

**Where & When:**
You’ll find us set up in the primary canteen on Tuesday 2nd May and Tuesday 9th May, from 12pm – 2pm.

IMPORTANT NOTE: WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT CLOTHINGz FOR SWAP THAT IS IN GOOD USED CONDITION OR BETTER.
We cannot accept items with rips, tears or obvious stains.

Merriwa Rotaty Club is collecting batteries now, with all funds raised to go towards the completion of the Shared Pathway around town.

Car, tractor, mower or truck batteries! 

If you’d like to help, please drop them on the pallets up the back of Merriwa CRT and we will take it from there. 

Any number helps! So let us help you by cleaning up those messy old batteries and putting them back to work for our community.
