The draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan (DPOP) is now available to view on our website at upperhunter.nsw.gov.au/DPOP.
This strategic plan outlines the council’s priorities, objectives, and actions over the next four years, as well as specific actions, targets, timelines, and budgets for each priority area over a one-year period.
We encourage everyone to take a look and provide their thoughts and feedback to help shape the future of the Upper Hunter Shire. You can submit your feedback in person at any of our offices, via email, or through an online form, the details of which are available on the website. Submissions close May 29 at 5pm.
In addition, we will be hosting a series of community consultation sessions to discuss the DPOP and gather community feedback. The sessions are scheduled as follows:
– Monday, 8 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Aberdeen Community Hall
– Tuesday, 9 May 2023, 5 – 6:30pm, Cassilis Community Hall
– Tuesday, 9 May 2023, 7:30 – 9pm, Merriwa School of Arts
– Monday, 15 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Scone Council Chambers
– Wednesday, 17 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Murrurundi CWA Hall
– Monday, 22 May 2023, 6 – 7.30pm, Moonan Flat Community Hall
Your involvement in this process is essential to ensure that the council reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to create a better future for the Upper Hunter Shire!

Lovely Penny Stanton returns to Cassilis with a new masterpiece for us to keep developing our painting skills.
Enjoy 5 courses of a high-tea-inspired degustation cocktail menu, paired with French bubbles, and your favourite Royal cocktails while creating a piece of art that you’ll be proud to take home and hang or sell.
Materials: Acrylic paints, pens, ink, and brushes supplied, with canvas included.
With the cost of living constantly on the rise, we understand the financial burden some of us are under. So, on behalf of Merriwa Central School, the P&C are excited to be able to offer families the opportunity to purchase and/or exchange second hand uniform garments from our Swap/Shop.
**How it works:**
Item for item swap – means you can swap a polo for a polo, shorts for shorts, etc. The idea is, you’ll be able to swap your garments for larger sizes as your child outgrows them.
Garments can also be purchased if you do not wish to swap.
* Polos & Jumpers will be $5 each
* Shorts, skirts & track pants will be $3 each
(All funds from the sale of items will be allocated to purchasing things like sanitary items and emergency underwear for students)
**Donations of garments are welcome!**
Availability of items & sizes will depend on demand.
**Where & When:**
You’ll find us set up in the primary canteen on Tuesday 2nd May and Tuesday 9th May, from 12pm – 2pm.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT CLOTHINGz FOR SWAP THAT IS IN GOOD USED CONDITION OR BETTER.
We cannot accept items with rips, tears or obvious stains.
