Our Mission: To foster the further education, career and personal development opportunities of rural youth, through community based encouragement and financial assistance.  

Merriwa Country Education Foundation has proudly sponsored over 40 Merriwa students with tertiary education and training costs.  We commenced in 2002 with an initial grant from Graincorp and with local donations and fundraising we have been able to provide grants of up to $2000 to assist individual student needs.  The grants can be used for any educational related expenses such as books, fees, relocation costs or campus accommodation. Students who have received MCEF grants to date have all gone on to successfully complete a range of degrees including rural science, commerce, teaching, horticulture, sports management, Asian studies, engineering, design and communications.

Applications from students who reside in the old Merriwa Shire boundary are open from September – December each year and can be accessed on www.cef.org.au

Interviews for a grant are held in January of each year.
